Under a Molten Sky
This is a short story I entered into the
Wil Wheaton/John Scalzi Fan Fiction Contest to Benefit the Lupus Alliance of America in June 2010. I love reading John Scalzi’s stuff, and this just seemed like a fun contest to enter. I haven’t written a lot of short story material before, but it was surprisingly easy to keep it short (though I hit the 2000 word limit exactly). 18 Years Old, Never Kissed a Girl
A story based on the song “38 Years Old, Never Kissed a Girl” by The Tragically Hip.
I started writing this story in 1997 while living in Colorado, but it wasn’t until February 2009 that I finished it. It gnawed at me for a quite a while. In 2013, I made a major editing pass through it and published it as a serial novella on my blog.
